Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 8, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how GuessThat ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you interact with our Discord bot (the "Bot"). By using the Bot, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. The Bot is designed to collect only the minimum amount of data necessary to provide its core functionality — interactive guessing games across Fortnite, Valorant, and Minecraft.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information when you interact with the Bot:
2.1 Discord User ID
Your unique Discord user ID is stored to identify you across game sessions, track game statistics, and associate your settings and preferences with your account. We do not store your Discord username, discriminator, email address, or any other personal profile information.
2.2 Game Statistics
We store the following gameplay data tied to your Discord user ID:
- Wins and losses per game mode (Fortnite, Valorant, Minecraft)
- Duel results (wins, losses, draws) per game mode
- The date and time of your most recent game ("last played" timestamp)
2.3 User Settings / Preferences
If you customize your Bot experience using the /settings command, we store your preferences,
including:
- Whether to hide your profile from the public leaderboard
- Whether to allow other users to duel you
- Whether to receive duel notifications
- Whether to allow others to view your player profile
2.4 Temporary Duel Session Data
When you participate in a duel, we temporarily store session data (the two player IDs and round scores) to manage the active duel. This data is automatically deleted once the duel ends.
2.5 Server (Guild) Information
The Bot receives basic Discord guild information (such as the server name and member count) via standard Discord gateway events when it is added to or removed from a server. This information is used solely for logging purposes and is not persistently stored in a database.
3. How We Use Your Information
The data we collect is used exclusively to:
- Track and display your personal game statistics and progress
- Power the leaderboard and profile features
- Manage active duel sessions between players
- Respect your privacy and notification preferences
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the Bot's core gaming functionality.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a secure database. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties. Your information is only accessible to the Bot's developer and is never disclosed to outside parties except as required by law.
6. Data Retention
Your game statistics and settings are retained for as long as you continue to use the Bot. Temporary duel session data is automatically deleted upon duel completion. If you wish to have your data removed, please see Section 8 below.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data via the
/profileand/leaderboardcommands - Control your privacy settings via the
/settingscommand (e.g., hide from leaderboard, disable profile viewing, toggle duels) - Request deletion of all data associated with your Discord user ID (see Section 8)
8. Data Deletion
If you wish to have your data permanently deleted from our systems, you may contact us by joining our support
server and opening a support ticket, or by using the /support command within Discord. We will process
deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Children's Privacy
The Bot is intended for use by individuals who meet Discord's minimum age requirement (13 years or older, or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under the applicable age, we will promptly delete it.
10. Third-Party Services
The Bot operates on the Discord platform and relies on external APIs to fetch game item data (such as item images and names from Fortnite and Valorant databases). These third-party services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the Bot after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please reach out via the /support
command in Discord or join our support server.
